Flora

Birchwood is widespread in the nature reserve‘s lowlands but amongst the birch, rowan trees that liven up the surroundings are found in a few spots. The birch forest‘s undergrowth is diverse and includes species such as black crowberries, northern bilberries and whortleberries. Woodland geranium, stone bramble and fern species such as oak fern are also common.

The vegetation cover in the reserve‘s mountainous areas is far more sparse and largely barren in places although moss and lichen covered cliffs and stones adorn the environment. Ladies mantles, creeping sibbaldia, dwarf cudweed, norwegian arctic cudweed, fir clubmoss and fern can be found in higher grounds in places with heavy snow-cover in winter.
